Construction has been completed on York Cosmetics, a new business opening in York. Two of York's local physician assistants, Heidi Jo Combs, PA-C and Heidi J. Solano, PA-C, will be staffing York Cosmetics, which is located on the second floor of York General Hospital's Medical Office Building at the south end of the hospital, in-between the Wellness Center and York Surgical Associates. Daniel J. Growney, M.D., P.C., recently became York Surgical Associates with the addition of a new surgeon, Dr. Ye. This service, new to the York community, will focus on "how you look". The motto for York Cosmetics is "You deserve it...".
"When you come to visit York Cosmetics you can expect trained professional staff to treat you like the important customer that you are," said Combs. "You will receive an initial free consultation and are likely to experience our brand new Photo-Imaging process which can reveal the sun-damaged areas on your skin. To steal a phrase, "we're not happy unless you're happy"."
Women, does your man have unsightly hair that you would like him to get rid of? Whether those areas are visible or hidden for your eyes only, York Cosmetics can help. And men, there is nothing wrong if you want to look a few years younger, or just want your skin a little smoother for your woman.
"York Cosmetics uses the state of the art in "permanent hair reduction" with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy," said Solano. "We have everything one would expect from a "complete care" cosmetics business with a full line of cosmetic procedures including Botox, Crystal Free Microdermabrasion, Brazilian Waxing, chemical and mechanical peels, cosmetic fillers, and the SkinMedica product line."
Combs and Solano already have extensive training and experience treating spider veins, and coming soon they plan fractional laser treatment for skin resurfacing and acne treatment. Tattoo removal is also on the horizon.
York Cosmetics offers a variety of long-lasting fillers such as Restylane, a natural filler that smoothes and firms the skin; Radiesse, which fills in wrinkles and rebuilds skin at the same time; and JuvÈderm(tm), injectable gel that can smooth wrinkles for up to one year!
For now the office hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Special hours can be made by arrangement. Call York Cosmetics today for a free consultation at 362-0306. Their professionally developed web site www.yorkcosmetics.com will be up soon so you will also be able to visit them online for more information on their products and services, changes in hours, specials, upcoming events, giveaways, parties, etc. They should also be listed soon in Allergan's (the makers of JuvÈderm and Botox) Physician Finder web site.

How about those
swimmers?
Have you become enamored of the Olympics yet? Will Michael Phelps win his eight gold medals. I had the chance to watch some of the opening ceremonies the other night and the symmetry and sheer number of participants was breathtaking.
And how about those American swimmers. Linda and I watched the 4 x 100 meter men's relay last night and I found myself sitting on the edge of the couch cheering the Americans on. That will teach the Frenchies to talk smack. It did make a difference to have the Olympic trials in Omaha. We watched a lot of that a month or so ago and it's great to hear them talk about Omaha this and Omaha that. We Nebraskans do like it when we are appreciated.
Hopefully we'll have more to cheer about in the next couple of weeks.
Thought for the week
It isn't what they think, it's what they know.
