Doug Koopman, President of Midwest Bank's York location, has announced that Barry Redfern, a banker in York for nearly 25 years, has been named Senior Vice President of the company's York branch.   Commercial lending, marketing and business development will be among his duties in his new position.

Allan Schmidt came to Epworth Village in December of 2002 after serving as a pastor in Chadron.  He said his plans were to, "stay at Epworth through the winter.  Obviously my plans changed."

Construction has been completed on York Cosmetics, a new business opening in York.  Two of York's local physician assistants, Heidi Jo Combs, PA-C and Heidi J. Solano, PA-C, will be staffing York Cosmetics, which is located on the second floor of York General Hospital's Medical Office Building at the south end of the hospital, in-between the Wellness Center and York Surgical Associates. 

Jen Melton has joined the Epworth Village family as a psychotherapist.  Melton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human relations from Doane College in 2003.  During that time she worked as a Wraparound Care Coordinator for "at risk" families with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Community Title has moved downtown to 610 Lincoln Avenue, York as of June 1, 2008. It was formerly located in the same building as Heritage Realtors.  Amie Kopcho is the licensed title agent and manager of the title company.

Jay Colburn has joined York General Health Care Services as Administrator of York General Hearthstone a 129-bed skilled nursing care facility.

Tabitha Health Care Services is celebrating 30 years in York with an Open House on Thursday June 5th from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  Stop on by at 522 Grant to meet the staff, enjoy some refreshments, register for door prizes and participate in Blood Pressure Screenings from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

The public is invited to join Mayor Chuck Harris, Senator Greg Adams and housing partners for a grand opening ceremony of the Yorktowne Estates, which are 18 senior rental townhomes. The event will be Thursday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m., in the Yorktowne Clubhouse on 816 Wisconsin Ave.
